Your Ugandan adventure begins the moment you land in Entebbe, Uganda’s main international gateway. After arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your safari guide who will assist with your luggage and provide a brief overview of the itinerary. The guide will then transfer you to Kibale National Park, home to some of Africa's most famous primates. The drive to Kibale takes approximately 5-6 hours, crossing beautiful Ugandan landscapes, including tea plantations, small villages, and verdant hills. On arrival, you'll check into your lodge for the night and enjoy a delicious dinner while preparing for tomorrow’s exciting adventure. After an early breakfast, it’s time for one of the main highlights of your trip—chimpanzee trekking. Today starts with a thrilling early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you’ll have the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife. The park is home to the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha, and while sightings of these rare cats can never be guaranteed, it’s one of the best places to spot them. Other animals you might encounter during the game drive include elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs (the national antelope), and various bird species. The cool morning hours are the best time to spot wildlife, as animals are often more active. After the morning drive, you’ll return to the lodge for breakfast. Later in the afternoon, you’ll embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This 32-kilometer-long waterway links Lake Edward and Lake George and is teeming with wildlife. The boat trip offers the chance to see large groups of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds, including the rare shoebill stork. You may also encounter elephants and buffaloes grazing near the water’s edge. After the boat safari, you’ll return to your lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner. The drive to Bwindi is approximately 5-6 hours, but the scenic beauty of the landscape will make the journey enjoyable. You will pass through rolling hills, small farming communities, and traditional villages before arriving at your lodge in the heart of the park. In the evening, you’ll have a briefing from the rangers and prepare for tomorrow’s once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience. Overnight at a lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The pinnacle of your safari experience awaits today: gorilla trekking in Bwindi. After an early breakfast, you will join your group and head to the starting point for the trek. The trek can last anywhere from 2-8 hours, depending on where the gorillas are located. Once you locate a group of gorillas, you will have a magical hour to observe them up close in their natural environment. Watching these gentle giants as they go about their daily activities is an unforgettable experience. The gorillas live in family groups, and the trackers will guide you to a particular group. As you approach, you’ll be asked to maintain a respectful distance, ensuring that you don’t disturb the gorillas. Your guide will share information about their behavior, social structures, and conservation efforts to protect them. After the trek, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, you will begin the journey back to Entebbe, which takes around 8 hours. Depending on your flight schedule, you may arrive in Entebbe in time for a late evening flight or stay overnight in Entebbe if necessary. Highlights of Day 5:
